Art Collection and Research

The Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum studies art works and artists and also collects art works of the artists associating with Yamaguchi prefecture.

*Collection
Yamaguchi Prefecture has had many great artists in its history, such as Sesshu in the Muromachi period, Unkoku in the feudal period, Hogai Kano and Kansai Mori in the modern period, and Wasaku Kobayashi and Yasuo Kazuki in the post war. The museum keeps adding works of the artists from Yamaguchi Prefecture and systematically shows the collections at the permanent gallery.
